"Should the city ban pitbulls or put restrictions on their owners? It’s a question Auburn City councilman Kevin Hanley has put forward to city staff. In a recent memo, Hanley asks city manager Bob Richardson and Police Chief Valerie Harris to consider a pitbull ordinance to be placed on a future city agenda."

CHAKO urged everyone to immediately contact targeting a specific breed of dog (and remind them that, pursuant to Section 31683 of the California Food and Agricultural Code, no city or county can ban or restrict ownership of Pit Bulls, except for basic spay/neuter laws).

Kevin Hanley, City Council hanleykh@jps.net

Robert Richardson, City Manager rrichardson@auburn.ca.gov

Also please consider contacting the other city officials:

Mike Holmes. mayor njrhs@inreach.com
Bridget Powers, Mayor Pro Tempore bridgetpowers@sbcglobal.net
Keith Nesbitt, Council Member mr.auburn@sbcglobal.net
Dr. Bill Kirby, Council Member flyingsurgeon210@yahoo.com
As a dog-loving community, all California dog owners must deal with this proposed breed restriction promptly and in a decisive manner. If Auburn implements BSL, expect other communities to quickly follow.

And, yes, this will affect BREEDS OTHER THAN Pit Bulls!
