Geocaching?

Everything that doesn't fit anywhere else!

Postby StalkerBlueDog » April 21st, 2011, 9:22 pm

So my husband and I have have started geocaching.. We're hiking every weekend for at least 5-8 miles with the dogs and loving it! It's a treasure hunt using GPS units. Anyone else a geocacher?

I've done it! I can't say I'm hardcore into it, I haven't looked for any since last summer. It's really a lot of fun and there's a lot of people into horseback riding that do it too! Sometimes there's some really cool items in the caches, it's a lot of fun!

You can do it anywhere.

http://www.geocaching.com/

This site explains everything. You get GPS coordinates, go to the location by following your GPS. You search around until you find the "cache" - whatever container it is in and usually they have you log your geocaching name, the date, where you're from. Sometimes there's little trinkets to trade... it's way fun!
