This has been going on for a long time. I feel bad for the family. When they got the dog he was a little puppy. He looked like a Lab mix. The litter was a mix of Lab & AB. The family registered the dog, stayed up to date on everything, and the dogs littermate is seen as ok. I feel that in taking the dog they got caught with their pants down and now don't want to back down. I think that the dog should be able to return to the family.
Not only am I a member of the Michelle says my dog is fat club I'm the president!

Light A Candle For Lennox Tonight

A candlelight vigil for the imprisoned Lennox will be held worldwide tonight.

The six-year-old bulldog/Labrador mix has been ordered put to death by lethal injection later this month because of the way he looks. Under Breed Specific Legislation, your dog could be next.

The dog was seized from the family home in Belfast, Northern Ireland, by the Belfast City Council and Belfast dog wardens after he allegedly growled at the dog wardens when they entered his home. They claimed he was acting aggressively while protecting his house and family, got out their measuring tape and proclaimed that he was a pit-bull type.

He’s not. Although a DNA test was not allowed into evidence, it’s been proven to the court that Lennox is not a pit bull, not “of type” and is not an aggressive dog. He is simply protective of his family and home, the same as most dogs when strangers enter and in this case,Lennox obviously sensed that they weren’t friendly strangers.

Two main vigils will be held in Ireland Sunday, Oct. 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. Ireland time at the Belfast Courthouse in Northern Ireland on Oxford St. Ireland is five hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time.
Another vigil Sunday night, this one in Brighton at the Clock Tower in Preston Park, also begins at 7 p.m.

A candlelight vigil for Lennox will be held worldwide Sunday night to show support forLennoxand to urge his immediate release. Organized vigils are already planned in Scotland, England, Australia, France and many other countries.

More than 400 celebrities worldwide have called for Lennox’s release.

Renowned British dog trainer Mic Martin says in his career, he’s come across some pretty poor decisions when it comes to dogs but the decision of the Belfast City Council (BCC) in Northern Ireland to euthanize six-year-oldLennoxranks in the top 10 worse decisions of all time.

Martin has angrily called upon the Belfast City Council to “reverse this decision”.

“It makes no sense. Your “expert” makes no sense either. Give the girl her dog back”.

Pete The Vet, (Pete Wedderburn) a well-known veterinary surgeon and media personality inIreland, spoke in support of Lennox and against dangerous dog laws on the breakfast TV show Ireland AM.

Pete advocates the immediate of release of Lennox and decries the existing law that caused his seizure and death sentence.

Lennox’s owners, Caroline and Craig Barnes lost their appeal on Sept. 30 and Lennox has been ordered to die unless Lennox’s legal team can mount a legal challenge by Oct. 14 demonstrating that the court and the Belfast City Council have erred under the law.

The dog could also be granted clemency, exempted and allowed to return to his home and to 12-year-old Brooke, the Barnes’ disabled daughter who calls Lennox her “bestest friend”. The Belfast government and in particular, the Belfast City Council, would earn the respect of the world by releasing Lennox to his family on Monday and undertaking immediate action to repeal their Dangerous Dog law.

Brooke’s health has seriously deteriorated since Sept. 30 and the final order to kill her beloved dog and friend.

The Million Lights For Lennox campaign is in effect through Oct. 14 worldwide. There are already candles burning on every continent for Lennox. Show your support, light your candles, turn your lights on for Lennox Follow on the Facebook page 1 MILLION LIGHTS ON FOR LENNOX!

Please Attend / INVITE and SHARE to the world.

In an effort to raise attention in the media, political and legal arenas, whoever can help free Lennox, supporters worldwide are asked to leave their hall light on tonight and every night until Oct. 14 to show Lennox we love him and want him home, to show the Belfast City Council, judges Ken Nixon and Derek Rodgers and Ex-PC Peter Tallack that the world is watching and working.

The family has until Oct. 14 to file new legal papers to try and gain the release ofLennoxdue to errors of law—a legal loophole if you will. The fraud perpetrated on the court by the Belfast City Council mandates that the judgment be voided and the dog released.

The dog was seized in May 2010 by Belfast dog wardens after they visited a family’s home on a routine license check and decided that one of the family pets, who doesn’t like strangers and was acting protectively of his family, looked like a pit bull.

DNA tests proven thatLennox, a six-year-old black bulldog/Labrador retriever is not a “pit bull type”. Following a trial when three dog wardens gave conflicting testimony and it has been proven that one dog warden intentionally and knowingly gave false material testimony to the court, the judge arbitrarily ordered the dog destroyed, saying the dog was “unpredictable”, as is virtually every dog and pet if they feel their loved ones are in peril.

The execution order is set for Oct. 21 unless he is exempted, a stay of execution granted.

There are 111,657 signatures on a petition directed to the First and Deputy First Minister For Northern Ireland to Save Lennox.

http://www.petitiononline.com/sl190510/petition.html

It was claimed if 100,000 signatures were collected, the subject would be debated in the House of Commons. When will that happen?
https://submissions.epetitions.direct.gov.uk/

“The undersigned give their signature in support and demand for the release ofLennoxfrom council authorities who was wrongly removed from his loving family home simply for the way in which he looks. Lennoxhas never done any wrong yet he has still been branded as of “pit bull type” by people who are untrained and unsure what the pit bull breed looks like.Lennoxis clearly an American Bull cross and has never shown any aggression toward anyone or anything. If a human was torn from his family home, locked up in inappropriate and unsuitable premises for the way in which he looked then we would deem it as racism and pure hatred, why do it to this beautiful animal? FreeLennoxnow as the eyes of the world are watching!”.

Light a candle for Lennox and pray that the Belfast City Council finally does the right thing and sends Lennox home to his loved ones this week before any more harms comes to Lennox and his family.
