Local Blood Bank in Serious Blood Shortage!

The Eastern Veterinary Blood Bank is in a BLOOD SHORTAGE. Their overstocked freezers and stocked refrigerators have become depleted. "There's nothing worse than having to ration necessary emergency medical supplies," says Patrick Lee, EVBB's Chief Operating Officer. Their inventory levels have dropped so low that they can only keep in stock about 1-2 days supply of Packed Red Blood Cells. "We simply need more volunteer canine donors to keep up with the demand," states Lee. "Many of our volunteer donors go on vacation with their owners during the summer months, but the need for blood doesn't wait for them to return from vacation."

The EVBB staff is appealing to all dog lovers and asking for help recruiting healthy dogs into the program. Healthy dogs at least 35 pounds, between the ages of 9 months and 7 years, and eager to receive tummy rubs and treats are encouraged to schedule a first time appointment. Please call 1-800-949-3822.http://www.evbb.com/index.html

Edited to add-Xander gives blood, and Score will be making his first "debut" next month, a "test run"...since he's not old enough yet. :)
