Get involved!
The Pit Bull B.A.N.D fundraiser is in LESS than 1 month! The event will be on Friday 27 July at 6:30pm. Orange Cat Studios, at 2625 Larimer St. in Denver, is graciously donating their gallery space for this important event (http://www.orangecatstudios.com). ; All proceeds will benefit the legal fund. Currently this case is pending in United States District Court based on the constitutional violations of Denver's ordinance 8-55 ("pit bull ban"). To see the brief that has been filed go to http://www.pitbullband.com.
Most importantly we need everyone to help get the word out and sell tickets! Tickets can be purchased by going to http://www.pitbullband.com and following the link to the fundraiser. Tickets can also be purchased at the door. This event is only $10.00, so every dog lover should be able to afford it. Please find the attached flyer and distribute it all over town (whatever town you are in)!
Also spread the word about the doggie photo contest. Categories include Best Smile, Best Dressed, Doggie Owner Look-a-Like, and Denver's Most Wanted (any dog that could be considered banned in Denver - no dog will be disqualified based on breed!). YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE PRESENT TO WIN THE PHOTO CONTEST. This is a great chance for out of state people to support this event. Entries are only $5.00 per photo (no limit). Entries must be received by 7:30pm, on 27 July. You can enter by going to http://www.pitbullband.com and following the link to the fundraiser - then mail in your photo to The PIt Bull B.A.N.D. PO Box 44273 Denver, CO 80201. Please include the name that matches the paypal account used to enter, and which contest the photo is for. Or bring your photo and $5.00 on the night of the fundraiser.
We will meet every Tuesday until the event - which only gives us three more meetings! Next week we will have a sign up sheet for folks who can volunteer the night of the event. Meeting location: Westwood Inn 7615 W. 5th Ave. Lakewood, 80226 - Meeting Dates: 7/10, 7/17, and 7/24, meeting time 7:00pm each Tuesday.
We have all been working toward a common goal. This is a chance for everyone who knows that Denver's breed specific ban is ineffective, misguided and wrong to come together. Come meet like minded dog lovers, get great deals on doggie and non doggie silent auction merchandise and generally have a great time while supporting an important cause.

See you on July 27th!!!!!!
