2 day/3 night intensive (12+ hours per day) disc dog seminar being taught by Ron Watson, Apryl Lea, Abby Cline and Andrew Han. The clinic is being hosted by the Minnesota Disc Dog club (home of Wallace the pit bull - although they now live in NY).
Right now, they are looking at a 12-18 working spot limit (preference given to MNDDC members), with unlimited auditing.
Kayden and I are making the 16 hour trek to Minnesota from NY for our annual road trip. If anyone is interested in learning the sport of disc or just wants to come out and learn how to work as a team with your dog, I highly suggest it. Ron and Apryl are amazing trainers (he taught Heidi how to throw a disc really well in under 5 minutes) and some of the nicest people I've had the chance to meet. All of their dogs they work and compete with are rescues and they do a wonderful job of finding and placing working prospects for people. I was never a huge fan of herders, but after seeing them in action, I have a new found respect for what they are capable of.
A pic I took of Apryl working her dog Kiva last year
Some clips of Ron having fun with his dog Leilani. It really is amazing to see him work dogs in person. He makes everything look so effortless
