For those looking to adopt a parrot or for shelters looking for help in placing a parrot.

The Connecticut Parrot Society helps residents of Connecticut with the placement of their birds. If you need to place your bird, we request your bird remain with you while we list the bird for adoption on this website and in our newsletter. We only adopt out to members of the Connecticut Parrot Society. We are not a parrot rescue or sanctuary, thus we cannot accept emergency placement on a regular basis. Our foster care housing is limited, and unless we have available foster homes, we may have to refer emergency placement to other clubs or rescues in the surrounding area.

I met the President of the Society, Barbara, at the CT Pet Expo in Hartford last weekend. Very nice lady and very dedicated to helping out parrots. Check out their site and drop by a meeting if you can! Dr. Sitinas of Wilton Vet will be the next guest speaker on November 6 -- website has meeting directions.
