I met Toby today and did a short evaluation.
We walked on a flat collar in the parking lot at the agility trial. There were a lot of dogs and people around. He was interested in the dogs, but I easily broke his focus and got his attention back on me. No posturing or aggression, just excitement. We did not interact with any of the dogs.
We walked around the building, and I called him up onto a pallet and over a small jump that he couldn't see over. He was happy to do what I asked of him and was not timid or overly hesitant.
He definitely has some back end trouble, is very straight, and for some reason was limping on the opposite leg from the old break. I think he would be a fine family pet, and possibly an obedience dog.
I did not have treats or toys with me, but it was not difficult to keep his attention on me with only verbal encouragement.
I think he's a really nice dog overall... let's try to get him placed...
