Any Dogo fans out there?

Postby LMM » December 10th, 2010, 4:10 pm

This big handsome and deaf boy is in desperate need. I don't want to post too much publicly but he is not in good hands. If anyone has any specific questions, please PM or email me at pittyloverescue@gmail.com.

His name is Casper, he is due to be euthanized today, and is not in a shelter.

He is gorgeous. I am not in the position to adopt, but can you explain the Dogo breed? I am very unfamiliar with it.

He is safe for now but his situation is still desperate. He's been starved and he's out of his mind confused. He needs a place to decompress in the worst way. He has a couple days at most. I've emailed a couple Dogo rescues too.

is so true.

Then again, I'm jaded and bitchy, so I'm not sure which is "worse"

Well, at least you don't toy with the idea that taking in a wounded scared animal and showering it with love, blankets and quiet surroundings is REALLY an option. And even though I really don't 'follow through' with my Mind-Candy-Game of Taking these dogs in, I DO feel compelled to think about it, worry about it and search for ways to 'make it work'. :nono:

He's in a safe environment for now but he really needs to be in a more proper situation. One that will be to address his issues, which are shockingly not as bad as the girl who had him before led on. Yea lots of sarcasm there.

We are addressing his medical issues right now. He is about 25 pounds underweight, with a split nail, and has raging ear infections in both ears.

So that's the update.

Jenn, is the deafness from the ear infections? Is it possible he isn't actually deaf? Only reason I ask is because I'm fighting 2 pretty raging ear infections right now and I can't hear a thing.

Handsome pup for sure.

Seriously, I've been like that for 3 days! I didn't even hear my alarm go off this morning, didn't even realize the BF left classical music playing for the dogs until 5 minutes ago when it hit a particularly high note. Totally sucks!

He is still in the current foster home, they love him and really hope to integrate him in with their other animals so they can keep him. If that doesn't work out apparently the son came home for Christmas and wants to offer him a home if it doesn't work out with mom. The son and fiance fell head over heels for him.

I sent him to the vet for his ears a couple weeks ago and we got that taken care of. He's been thriving since! So I'm cautiously optimistic this is going to work out for him in some way, shape, or form!
