Duke is doing so amazingly well right now. I hope an addition doesn't upset the apple cart. We are very religious about NILF. I do lots of structure things with him - sitting and waiting until he's released before he gets fed. Sitting at the door and waiting until the door his opened before rushing out. A little training session for his before bed treat. Just the little things.
He is learning 'leave it', and is MUCH better behaved outside. He's still not crazy about motorcycles, 4 wheelers, or golf carts, but is doing better. Training me helped - not tensing up and restricting the leash has made a big difference, as had just talking calmly to him when he starts to act like a butthead outside.
