My name is Heather and I am from Kentucky. I have two beautiful pits named Gunner and Shelby! I have recently noticed a growth in Shelby's mouth on her gums. I took her to the vet today and found out that it was a tumor! :sad2: She is scheduled to have it removed this Friday. We are hoping and praying that its not cancer!!

Hi Heather, and welcome to PBT. :wave2:

I am sorry about Shelby's possible health concern. Tell us more about her! How old is she, where did you get her, and what color is she? Once approved to post elsewhere, we have a health section related to cancer, should you need some dog-people's ideas or just some TLC.

And Gunner? What is his story?

Hi Heather! Glad you found us. This is a pretty awesome group - a balance of supportive, funny, informative.
Hopefully Shelby's surgery will be uneventful and she will have a speedy recovery.

If it should be the dreaded cancer, there are many of us here who have battled (or are battling) and have quite a large knowledge base.

Hi Heather...please give us some more info, so you can be allowed to post to the rest of the board! You'd be amazed at the support on this board, when you're going through hard times (of any sort). Welcome!

Shelby is brown and white, she is 5 yrs old and we rescued her from a puppy mill. Gunner is also brown and white, 6 yrs old and we got him from the shelter. Shelby had her surgery and the tumor was successfully removed! NO CANCER!! Very thankful that everything turned out ok! What other information do I need to give in order to be approved?
