Hello,Everyone calls me Whiskey.I belong to several forums for
my breed.I currently own 4 dogs of my own, my son has 1,and
hubby has 1,All APBT's.I have been with the breed for almost
20 years total, but hands on for now about 14 years.I was
originally with German shepherds, but wanted a dog with more drive, more
handle, and a helluva lot less hair at shedding time!!
I live in HancockCounty Mississippi, which received the direct impact
of Hurricane Katrina recently.Pre storm,I was active in weightpulling,
and was starting off with conformation.Unfortunately,I lost everything,
all that was precious to me,but we are here, and we have our health.
We have started healing and are in the process of trying to rebuild.
(absolutely no thanks to FEMA.LOl)
I spent many years in the clinics working as everything from kennel
manager to Tech.I housed the only APBT/AST rescue in South MS pre-storm.
I work closely with many local clinics, rescues, and law enforcement
agencies, being the only person this way willing and capable of handling
the breed.I have dealt with legislative tactics and BSL bull.I actively
study into legal aspects of EVERYTHING.My dad(RIP) was an officer and a
fireman,so I am into everything like that.I guess I get the passion for
it from him.I have also worked as a groomer for several years, and still
do a few cuts on the side for friends, lol.
For many years I raised and worked with horses. My first love was the rodeo
circuit, but I spent more time on the track.I tended to like the rough, hard
to handle ones, that no one else wanted to have to deal with, lol.Maybe
that is why I love my chioce of breeds so much.
I also work with our local wildlife rehab centers.I work mainly with
squirrels and reptiles, but have also handled quite a few raptors and
wildcats.Just as the dogs,we rescue, rehabilitate, and release or rehome.
If there is anything else you would like to know, feel free to ask me.
