So, where to start off...

Baku is our 16 week old (as of yesterday) Purebred Pitbull pup. He's a very good cow of a dog with the temperament of a house cat.

His name, Baku, is short for Bakuhatsu. It means Explosion in Japanese. My wife is Japanese and wanted to name him something in her native tongue.

He came into the lives of my wife and I when one of my old High school friends was killed in a motorcycle accident. The day after hearing of the incident, I met up with his parents to share my condolences. That's when I learned that their Pit had a litter of 12 puppies. My wife has always loved dogs as her parents in Japan always had one around. I, on the other hand, grew up with a very annoying miniature poodle and grew to hate the species as a whole.

Well, when I heard that their parents were selling the pups, it was a win/win situation for me. I got to make my wife happy and put some money in the pocket of a family that could really use it.

We've had Baku for 2 months now, and he's become a great addition to the family. He has mostly free run of our house as long as he's in sight of us. We don't want him to hurt himself so quickly correct him any time he could get into trouble.

He still has some house training issues, but we're trying our best to work on them as we go. The biggest problem is that when he wants to go out, he doesn't vocalize it at all. He will quietly walk to our door and if we don't see him right away, he'll pee there instead of outside. It's a rather infrequent occurrence, but it does happen.

Anywho, he comes to work with me every day. I work in sheet metal fabrication and he's become our shop mascot while staying in a penned in section of our office. There's a doggy daycare that's 2 doors down from us, and some times after work I'll bring him over to play (very supervised) with a few other dogs. He seems to enjoy it.

I've been taking videos of him since we got him and putting them up on youtube. Here are what I've taken.

Here he is at 8 weeks old.
