UKC weight pull rules changes 8/1/09

Weight pull, Protection, Agility, Flyball... you name it!

A fair amount of change, largely good in my opinion. It is definitely going to be confusing, especially for host clubs, until we get used to it.
Highlights;
No max weight to come in on
New weight classes (20#, 30# ten pound increments up through the 100# class, then unlimited)
Divisions 70# and under, over 70#, competing for their own MWPP and MWP
Grand Champions, who compete for their own MWP and MWPP in 2 divisions

Change to the start rule, which I'm not thrilled with, no more than 1 foot slack (that's fine w/me), traces must touch the ground at the time the dog is released or it's a foul.

I like the rule about the collar either flatbuckle or no collar...
Still reading up on the rest though, lol

Where are the traces on the hookup? I'm not familiar with the terminology

The traces are the rope that goes from the front of the cart to your dog's harness, clipped onto the d-ring.

That sounds like an odd change to me, any idea why they did it?

Nope, I'm out of that loop. Probably looking for more consistency.
