Sheltie Sanctioned Match Brags

For those of us that show or want to show our dogs.

Postby StalkerBlueDog » April 29th, 2009, 5:55 pm

Took the babies out to the Kanadasaga Kennel Club match in Canandaigua NY sunday. It's always one of my favorites and usually well attended. We ended up having a pretty good day!

"Leia" my tri sheltie girl won her puppy class (over a nice bitch puppy that won best puppy at the CNYSSC specialty match recently) and "Luke" my tri sheltie boy won his puppy
class. They both went on to compete for best of breed puppy and "Leia" charmed
her way into winning not only best of breed puppy but also took a puppy group
2nd!

These guys just turned 3 months old on sunday and I couldn't have been prouder. I'm
still trying to decide who's staying and who's going to be available, and they're sure not making it easy..lol.

My 8 month old aussie pup "Kaylee" Canami's Protector of Serenity also came
along for the ride so my sister could practice her handling skills in the adult
handling class and ended up with best of breed puppy and a puppy group 4th
behind her sheltie kid sister!

Not a bad day for a nice, sunny puppy match!

Thanks for letting me brag!

Ack! Fuzzy sheltie pups! :heartbeat:

My first dog (family dog) was a sheltie...so I have a soft spot for the breed... :D

I tossed the puppies in the "all breed puppy show" that they do for free for 3-6 month old puppies after Best in Show at the Locke NY UKC shows today.

Luke and Leia both came along and Leia once again beat her brother and a couple other nice puppies going "Best Puppy" under sheltie/dachshund breeder Teri Frenia.

God they're not making this easy..

Thanks! We went again today. There were about 100 more dogs entered today then yesterday! It was the biggest entry they've had to date doing these shows.

There was a nice Aussie bitch entry with bitches in 3 out of the 4 bitch classes. For the first show my girl Kaylee went from the puppy class to take Reserve Winners Female the first show, and Winners Female the second show. I think that brings her up to 60 pts/1 competition win.

I put the puppies in the all breed 3-6 month puppy show again today, and with an entry just over double yesterday's entry Luke went Best Puppy this time.

We had a great time, except for the down pour right at the end.. which of course stopped just in time for me to be soaked to the bone and have everything packed up (of course..lol)

One more day to go!

More puppy sanctioned match brags..

I took the puppies who are now almost 5 months old ( :sad2: ) to a match in Hamlin. Leia made the cut in the pouring rain in a HUGE 3-6 month puppy sweeps class.

We then stuck around for breed, and even after having been soaked to the bone and looking like a drown rat all morning, Luke somehow dried off enough to win his class, then go Best of Breed Puppy over Leia who won her class, and then onto a Puppy Herding Group 2nd!

I can't believe how big they're getting! I'll have to take some more recent pictures. The rain was so awful we didn't take any this weekend.

( Brie also brought her sable boy Buzz by the way, and he went best of breed adult and won the adult herding group! )
