Some of you may know, Ella has this...well, thing on her.
Almost two weeks ago, we woke to find Ella's right lymph node in her neck swollen to the size of a tennis ball.
Took her to the vet, he tried to aspirate it, he couldn't get much because whatever it is clogged the needle. But he managed to get a big splotch once he got the needle unclogged.
She also appeared to have three bumps that he swore were mast cell tumors (she has had to have a mast cell tumor removed before). They came back NOT to be mast cell tumors, though (thank GOD).
Here is what she looked like on that day with the swollen mass:
He was certain it was her lymph node.
So he put her on antibiotics, he sent off samples to the lab, and he called us the following day.
Told us it was not looking like cancer and her white blood cells "couldn't be more normal"
well, to make a long story shorter, we tried prednisone and 2 rounds of antibiotics.
The swelling has come down some, and he was able to aspirate some liquid from it last week, but the lab results are coming back basically inconclusive and that it's a big mass of necrotic tissue (or large amounts of necrotic tissue).
They can't know what it is at this point, because it's just a big mass. He said we could do a biopsy, but he advised that we just go in and remove the entire thing for her safety, and so that the lab can figure out WHAT it is and what its origin is. And a biopsy wasn't going to be much cheaper to do, and he just thinks it would best to remove the entire thing so that the lab can run tests on it in its entirety.
He basically ruled out cancer last time, but he said today that he cannot be certain until the lab can test the mass.
He also said today that they are not even certain that it's her lymph node anymore.
So, with surgery next week, and costs of everything involved with this lump, we are looking to run a sale to offset some of the costs of it all.
We are NOT looking for donations.
If you decide to take advantage of the sale, you will receive the same quality product, in the same timely fashion that we are known for.
So, please punch in the code: ForElla20 to receive 20% off your purchase with Ella's Lead. http://www.ellaslead.com
And please keep your fingers crossed and/or keep Ella in your prayers that this is NOT something too serious.
Thank you!
