Repeal the Breed Ban in Denmark

PLEASE SIGN!

Rip Pako :(

Over 400.000 dogs are now in danger in Denmark. The Danish Government has passed a breed ban law, 13 breeds are now forbidden in Denmark, and also any mix of these breeds.

The Government has introduced reverse burden of proof, so the owners of Dogs that look like these breeds, now have to proof that they are not, which as we all know, can not be done with DNA. If you can't lift the burden of proof - the dog will be euthanized

Tomorrow, Thor (14 month old) will be killed. :(

We have spent lots of our holidays in Denmark, it's a great country! Endless beaches, not too many tourists... I really miss being able to travel to Denmark (Smokey would be in danger just because of how he looks like)... We now stay in Germany. The Island of Sylt is next to the danish border...

For now Thor is safe!!! (until the court in Odense has made a decision... But it's the first time the Police has stopped the killing which is a great success!)

I don't know what they are saying, but this video is from today when his owner was allowed to see Thor for the first time since the beginning of September 2012 ;)

Thor is still alive.

There is an other Thor (a GSD) in Denmark who was in danger to be put to sleep... But he got a hero who saved him

This Danish policeman, Lars Bo Lomholt, is A Real Man.

Due to a quirk in Danish law a new widow's only solace, her dog, was about to be euthanized. The dog had bitten another dog, but passed the mental tests required with flying colours, and the elderly lady offered to do everything required to keep her dog. That should have been the end of the story.

The dog bitten had, however, developed an infection and that's where the quirk in Danish law comes in. Proceedings halted and the widow's dog was scheduled for euthanasia the next day.

Lars Bo Lomholt thought that this was wrong. So wrong that he put his entire career on the line, turning up at the dog pound in his police uniform and having the doomed dog released to him that night.

The dog, Thor, was taken to see a vet and then to an undisclosed location, where he is doing as well as can be expected, separated from his mummy, shortly after losing his daddy.

Officer Lars Bo Lumholt fully expects to be fired next week.
