Farewell to a friend

Postby KimJay Pits » January 2nd, 2008, 10:31 pm

I hope nobody minds me posting this here. My Lab mix that I had posted about a few months ago lost her battle with cancer this past saturday. She had been doing great and we had hopes that she would be around a little longer.
I noticed she had a few more tumors growing on her stomach and she normally would get small mosquito like bumps that would heal up rather quickly.
She had one on her head that grew huge and got infected and a ulcerated spot on her neck. After about 2 days she started to go downhill, not wanting to go outside and play and was not steady on her feet. All of this happened within 2 days. We decided to not let it go any further and had to have her euthanized. She passed in my arms. The vet had nice clay paw print done for me. I miss my girl so much. :(
Here's a pic of Missy before she became ill.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I went to the store Monday and accidently bought her food that I was so used to cooking for her. It seems weird waking up in the morning and not having her there trying to break down the back door to go outside.
I know she is in a better place but she will always be missed.
