ATTENTION
IMPORTANT RECALL NOTICE AMERICAN NUTRITION "KIRKLAND SIGNATURE(tm)" DOG FOOD

April 27, 2007
Dear Costco Member:
American Nutrition, in cooperation with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is conducting a voluntary recall of products containing rice protein concentrate potentially contaminated by melamine, an industrial chemical which may prove harmful to animals if consumed.

Kirkland Signature(tm) Lamb and Rice canned dog food is included in this recall. It is sold as part of the Kirkland Signature Premium Dog Food 2-Flavor Variety Pack, item #38436, with a specific code on the package which reads, "Best if used by Apr 15 09."

Please stop using this food with those codes immediately and return the dog food to any Costco warehouse for a full refund.

The Humane Society of the United States has established a pet food safety information line with the most up-to-the-minute pet food recall information, including a list of all companies involved in the recall and ways to determine if your pet’s food was affected.

By calling 1-800-Humane-1, callers will hear a personal message from HSUS President and CEO Wayne Pacelle, and can then choose from among three areas: updated recall information on pet food and treats; tips on what you can do to protect your pets; and how you can help.
