An update:
Georgie is now at 90 days post diagnoses and still doing well. His appetite is healthy (he is actually a bit plump, now) and he interacts well with the other animals. He does get tired easily and will nap wherever he wants and you are expected to step over/around him. He does not move until he is ready to do so. Kings are above such things, don't you know?
I have finally reached a point of peace realizing that Georgie does NOT have an expiration date stamped on his a$$ and that he will be with me for as long as he will be with me. No one can say for sure how long that will be. I have stopped being afraid that I will come home from work and find him passed away.
His eyes and coat are bright and shiny and he is happy, fat, loving, affectionate, and content - and that is really all that matters, isn't it? His quality of life is good and as long as that quality of life is not compromised, Georgie will be with me.
