For as reactive/bitchy/aggressive as Inara can be, she can be an amazing dog to help steady other reactive dogs. One of my girlfriends has a dog that is very fearfully reactive to people, but we can walk him side by side with Inara and they help each other. He's fine with dogs so seems to steady her a bit around dogs, and she's great with people and seems to steady him around people.
I have another friend with a very sound-sensitive reactive dog that is Inara's local dog to play with. He's to the point where he really can't be walked much because he freaks out at everything. We tried walking him with Inara today and it actually made a difference for him. Granted, we were in the middle of a park and the other dogs were WAAAAAAAY ahead of us. But even when he was freaking out and barking, she just looked at him like he was insane and didn't bark back. And a couple times when he was getting worked up she'd give him a quick nuzzle on the side of his face and distracted him. Very cool to see.
It just really blows my mind because she will blast other dogs even if they don't start crap with her, but with the right dogs she can be the solid dog to help steady them. It's really neat for me and makes me so proud of her.
