Additional supplements w/RAW diet?

Postby amazincc » April 18th, 2008, 11:40 am

I usually add a whole container, 6-8 oz.

Do you do this per day or just a couple times a week?

I am making the switch and I cannot afford the ready to go raw like Nature's Variety, so I am going to just be getting my meat from the grocery strore and add supplements. I wanna make sure I am adding the right things and the right amounts.

I already add salmon oil and crushed garlic. I plan to add kelp, eggs and plain yogurt.

Also, what kind of veggies do you guys like to use for a puree. I have carrots, beans, spinach, celery, and cucumbers on my list.

2-3 times a week for the yoghurt and the eggs... the oil, garlic and kelp I add daily.

I don't feed too many veggies, but when I do I add green beans and/or raw carrots.

I also can't afford ready-made RAW, but I am a great bargain hunter at the grocery store.

Welllll then, I may just be hitting you up for money saving tips ;)

Ok so yogurt and eggs a few times a week, eggs raw I assume? And I do the garlic and oil daily as well. I have to see if I can find powdered kelp this weekend.

Yea I love TLC. I'll look for some of this when I hit Lori's tomorrow. Thanks again!

Have you ever been to Pet Supersaver in Greece? I order my nupro and salmon oil from them and they deliver. All over the Rochester area, for $1.50! They are realllllly nice and helpful too.

I've been adding Missing Link to the dog's and cat's food for about two months. I haven't noticed a big difference with the dogs, but the cats coats look and feel a LOT better.

I just buy the big container of yogurt & add a tablespoon or so a couple of times a week. Also, check out this supplement. I have been using it for a while now & LOVE it.

A tablespoon or something does the trick.

I made Barf-patties that I feed almost every day. They have all the supplements (including yogurt).

As for veggies, celery is pointless IMO. I wouldnt feed it. Go easy with the carrots because they have alot of sugar. Squash is good. Greens are good.

I buy a Oma's Pride 5-way veggie mix. I forget what the veggies are. Squash, kale, broccoli.... I forget. I'll let you know when I buy it again. lol

I would think so.

I used to just chuck mine in the blender with yogurt or something.

Christine: I would say so. 8 oz a day is a LOT. Especially if you arent giving non-fat. I never use low fat. But, for Mick... :|

No, not every day... 2-3 times a week. Always non-fat.
I could just divide it up for each day though. Thanks, Chea. :)

And - are you calling my Beast fluffy??? >(
