Rochester Raw Meat Deals

Postby maberi » April 29th, 2008, 7:46 pm

Lol, I used to buy 300 lbs of food at a time so 80 didn't seem like much to me

I used to feed tripe from 10 lb bag and it as a pain in the a$$ to break up (really sinewy) but the stuff I ordered comes in 1 lb bag so it will be perfect to split up between my 3 for a meal

The liver came in chunks which I like (hate cutting that crap up) and I also liked that the beef was free range and grass fed

holy bejesus. that would feed layla for a year.

I've never fed tripe, but after hearing how gross it is, I may keep it that way.

Layla won't eat organ meat unless its pureed and mixed in with other meat, so I don't really have to cut it into chunks. I did notice that a lot of the items were free range/grass fed, which is nice.

Well, my 3 dogs eat about 4 and 1/4 lbs a day

so that would be about 70 days worth....

he's got 3 dogs bigger than mine.... so i'd guess 6 lbs a day - 50 days worth...

Two of mine eat about a pound a day and one eats a little less than a pound. So yea, this food will last me.

Now if I could find a deal on a freezer, I'd be set.

There's lots of them here for around that price, but they're all full size freezers.

You want a smaller one right? Like a mini-chest freezer? Like 5-7 cu ft or so?

You know I'd love to get a stand up freezer for the right price but I don't know how the hell I'd get it in the house. Transporting is one thing but yikes! I can see me sprawled at the bottom of my basement steps pinned beneath a big azz freezer LOL

So yea, 5-7 cubic feet. There is one for sale right in my mom's area in Henrietta that I am going to try and look at tomorrow. I'll let ya know!

Oh and good news, my mom will be switching to raw soon :D
