Here is a list of Emu farmers by state

http://agonline.com/AgOnLine/emuranches2.asp

If an Emu bites me in the ass I will snap it's skinny neck, drag it home & toss it in the backyard for a puppy picnic ( one at a time of course)

the only one listed for New York only has them for eggs, not for butchering.

Contact them anyway. The one we use sells Emu oil & doesnt really promote their meat products.

No fair..... where's the pouting icon when you need one?? I called all the emu farms within three hours of me (thanks to your helpful link  ) and none of them answered, so I left messages at all of them. I'm pretty sure half of them were wrong numbers and the people are listening to messages going "What?? Emu???" LOL For $.50/lb I gotta get me some of that!!

They pretty much do, they will eat anything I put in front of them.

BL, you will just have to move here so you can get in on the deals. :)

Keep looking & join your local Yahoo Barf lists. The one I am on finds great deals on wholesale stuff. They didn't used to & I stopped checking it but Tiger ( member here) gave me a heads up a few months ago & I check it every day now.

She has been throwing away ( ) all the meat and bones and said I could have it all if I wanted it.... for freeeeeeeeeeee. w00t!! She's butchering five emu (emi?) next month and said "Yea, bring some coolers, take whatever you want. We'll just throw the rest away." woooohoooo!!

AWESOME! Now I AM jealous! :x

Your dogs will thank you! The pieces are kind of big but nothing your pups cant handle. AND if you have a chain saw or a cleaver you can hack them up into smaller sizes.

Girl, you need to join the DFW Barf list. It used to be pretty dead ( still kind of is) but when they get ready to do a bulk order the posts pick up. Our emu people are going to get going again in May, this was what they had left from their last processing.

http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/DFW_BARF/

The emu ranchers are wonderful people who put out quality products.

Oh & look at the database on the list also, there are some processors listed in the DFW area that sell to the public. 40 pound boxes of chicken cages & necks for $8.
