Angel had a little accident *graphic pics*

We went over to a friends house tonight, and before we left we crated the dogs up (beside each other).
We came home a few hours later, and the crates are downstairs so I let Greddy and Angel upstairs and Mike opened the door for them to go outside and do their thing.
Im comming up the stairs and Mikes yelling "Babe what happened to her face".
I run up and let her back in and look...





We both feel HORRIBLE. We checked over Greddy and he doesnt have a stratch on spot of blood on his so we know they were fighting through the cages. However they are both on lead right now and on diff floors.

We cleaned Angel up really well and are taking her to the vet in the AM. Any suggestions on what to do till then?!?

If you have any saline and she will let you rinse it out, I'd get it as clean as possible. Definately try to keep her from messing with it (good luck)

Are you sure they were crate fighting, or does she has crate issues?

Every so often I come home and Ruby will have beaten herself up pretty good all by herself.

Ouch! Is there any way she could have injured herself in the crate? It doesn't look like a bite.

Owww! Looks like she caught herself on something sharp.

If you can, wash it well with water and mild soap, but don't use peroxide on it, that tends to destroy the skin. And you can put some Neosporin on it, that will help the most.

The Neosporin will keep it moist, it's an antibiotic ointment. I'm not sure if the vet can stitch it, sometimes they use super glue to keep the skin edges together while it heals.

Oh that looks sore. Totally looks like she caught it on something and tore it. Hope she heals up quickly.

Just got back from the vet and she said that its starting to heal so she doesnt want to stich and have to open it back up. She gave us some pills and told us to come back if it gets infected or she keeps scratching it (which she isnt)

It'll probably itch as it heals though. Glad she didn't need stitches!
