Found a lump

Food, Fitness and how to keep them healthy.

Lump got smaller and opened. It was bloody and seems to be mostly gone now, just a little scab on it.
I think I'll discuss with the vet at work tomorrow and see what she thinks. I doubt it is even big enough to get an aspirate from it now...? I will keep updating.

That's good news, right?
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure....

Sounds like some weird type of abscess? Who knows... I'm sure you'll keep an eye on it and act accordingly, if it comes back.

Ewww...hopefully that was a good thing! Let us know what the vet says.

I was going to talk with the vet I work with today, but unfortunately her old lady dog is not doing well and she was unable to come in to work today. :(

I'll keep you updated. I forgot to look at it this morning.

Well, the lump is almost gone-- just a little scab now.

I talked with our vet at work and she thought it sounded strange, but said not to worry too much since it has gotten better. She did say that if it seems to come back, get him in to his vet right away.
Could have been a bite, staph infection that went into the skin, or a foreign body that was working its way out. Since it wasn't pus, she didn't think he needed antibiotics.

I'm glad it's resolved, at least for now. :) Here's hoping it never comes back!
