So... Toby has diarrhea again. At first, I chalked it up to him and his partner in crime, Tilly, getting into a bag of dog food that I was giving to my brother (Blue Buffalo Salmon, Toby was eating a rare bag of Solid Gold at the time, but is typically on Blue Buffalo Chicken). A few weeks later he had it again and I figured it was because my roommates decided to feed him an entire meal of his Blue Buffalo food while transitioning from Solid Gold (we had a talk about feeding my dog without asking....). Since that episode, he was alright for a month or so. Today out of the blue, he has it again. The only thing I can figure is that it is when he is eating Blue Buffalo. He used to do well on it, but maybe it just doesn't sit well with him anymore?
I am thinking about just doing Solid Gold. He eats it well and I don't recall any problems while on it.
*sigh* Now to go clean since it happened to happen while I was in class and he was in his crate.
Also- I realize I may get flamed for this, but I really can't afford to take him the vet right now for intermittent diarrhea. In January, I can definitely take him, but right now with my classes and costs... it's not realistic. If an "emergency" (I use that term loosely...) popped up (like his kennel cough this summer. >.<) then I would MAKE it work. Basically, is this a serious enough problem that I should be taking him in or should I try probiotics and solid gold and take him in a couple of months if it hasn't alleviated?
Otherwise he is healthy, runs and plays and drinks. Good appetite.
Thanks for reading, guys. Let me know if you can think of anything to help out.
