I totally understand. It's a lot to take in especially since everything happened so fast. I'm sure you weren't expecting to have to hospitalize him even when he had blowout from both ends. It sounds like you're managing things pretty well!

Xander's not eating well...he's skin and bones. I moved him off of the K/D, since he stopped eating that in NY over the weekend...and I'm trying different canned foods with protein lower than 8%. He turned his nose up at Avoderm mixed with cottage cheese and chicken heart gravy (warmed up) this morning...but did eat half a can of TOTW.

*sigh* I guess he needs to go back on his appetite stimulant.

Oh geez. :(

I found that even when we started to reduce Harley's mirtzapine for appetite stimulation, he would start balking at eating. My game plan is to keep him on one pill/day for eternity. Maybe Xander will need that, too.

Also, I understand the stress of offering a variety of food in hopes that SOMETHING will be eaten. I have learned the hard way that when they don't want to eat, they don't want to eat anything.

Yeah, I'm going to get some more mirtzapine from the vet...it definitely seemed to help...

Thanks Joyce...:hug3:

Check out these prices. Bob found this site for me. It has the least expensive mirtazapine I have used. Once your Vet faxes them the prescription, I got it in 2 days.
