Wow, the pressure is really on to do a good intro...Okay, here goes.
My name is Liz. I'm 26 years old and obviously live in Ohio, near Cleveland. I'm desperately trying to find other pit owners in my area - I feel like I'm the only one! I am a State Parole Officer, which is how I got introduced to the world of pits. We're always running into abused pits when we're tracking down our bad guys, but not once have I felt threatened by one. I've been threatened much more frequently by Rotts and mutts. Seeing such abused pits still be so friendly touched me and encouraged me to do a TON of research, at which time I announced to my hubby I wanted to adopt one. He thought I was crazy, but agreed. Right after Christmas (literally, Dec 26) we adopted Atlas and Inara, 6 week old APBT brother and sister, from a no-kill shelter in Kinsman, OH. Atlas was a gorgeous brindle/merle with blue eyes, and Inara is white with tan patches and a black eye. Sadly, when Atlas was only around 8 weeks old we had to have him put down because he began having uncontrollable seizures. It was horrible. So Inara is the only surviving pup from the litter. Her mom was rescued by the cops, pregnant - she had been breeding fighters. Inara is now four months old and doing beautifully. She's obviously a handful being the age she is, but we're in puppy school and she's doing great. You all will get sick of seeing pics of her in here - I was never a dog person until I met her, and now my world revolves around her.
Well, hopefully that is a suitable intro - sorry for rambling, but once you get me started on my baby girl (or pits in general!), I don't stop. Seeing as how I'm still new to the world of pits, I always welcome suggestions. Hope to talk to all of you a lot!!!
