Please post a picture in memory of your departed friend...

Here is where we can discuss canine cancers and treatment options to create a support system for those dealing with the disease.

Postby amazincc » January 9th, 2008, 6:51 pm

I know we already have a Memorial Thread, but it would be nice to put a face w/the dog(s) who have battled and lost their fight w/Canine Cancer - and it will be another small way to remember and honor them here.
Thank you... :hug3:

Not a dog, but Cattia (the rat on the right) passed on 12/26/04 from strange stomache and mammory tumors.

This is his memorial stone at the shelter I was involved with at the time. Matt kindly removed the last name.

He was a looker, too! You've always had very handsome and pretty dogs, haven't you? That memorial is very nice.

Thank you. The stone was a gift from my friends at the shelter. They have a "Memorial Walk" into a lovely garden.

This was my baby for 16 years. Loved Mama but hated everybody else. All things her name was Sweet Pea
Sent to doggie heaven 2-20-07<a><img src="http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee249/madremissy/Picture225.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

This is Precious, She was the best dog in the world. My husband's rubbing stone. We were about to have to make the decision because she was getting so bad and the medicine was not working anymore. I was not home. My husband came home and she ran to him one last time with her bunny in her mouth. He left and I came home to find her in front of the fireplace with Sammy by her side. She knew we couldn't make the decision so she made it for us. She was 12. Taken to doggie heaven with congestive heart failure 3-30-07. That was also Kinzyl and Gotty's 1st birthday.

I was shocked to find how many dogs and other animals get cancer. Even ones much younger than Sock-M. I read about several that were only months old and infested with it. Goldens , labs and Boxers seem to be some of the breeds that are affected in the greatest numbers, but it attacks all breeds.

Unless it is put out there like on a forum most don't know unless it hits home.
