not sure if this is the right section for this but...

My gf is moving out and a friend is moving in with her mini shnauzer (sp?) i have full faith that Zyda can handle this and do just fine without eating him. I'm looking for suggestions from all of you that foster/rescue about introducing a new dog in the home. I would like for this to be as stress free as possible for everyone involved. if it comes down to it, i'm prepared to crate and rotate but i'd like to try and get this right from the start. thanks.

There is a good thread to start.

Schnauzer's can be really BIG brats from what I've learned raising Tucker. He has a major napoleon complex, that I have to constantly keep in check. Good luck!!

I am too lazy to look at that thread, but I can suggest to take it slowly. When I brought Lenny into my home in July, I kinda wanted them to all get along the first week. 8)

Well maybe it would be better off if someone else could help with the initial introduction?

I make my dogs get totally bored with a new dog by tethering everyone for a couple of weeks. That way by the time I do the introduction all the excitement has worn off.

I also know by that point if they aren't going to get along at all.....
