Grooming a Golden is NOT easy

If it's a non-human, non-Pit Bull, family member, post it here!

I read up on the internet how they are suppose to look. 8)

These are Lenny's fluffy paws. We don't want those things sticking out of his toes.

Butt is too curly.

Side view of long pieces underneath. Again, a no-no.

Soooo......I followed the videos from the Golden people and this is what I got: 8)

Goldens are A LOT of work. I brush him every day, have been slowly shedding him out, clip his nails every 2 weeks and clean his ears and teeth every week. While I am sure he doesn't look like the OTHER purebreds out there, I think he looks cute. Sort of Labradorish.

Here is is RUNNING with The Dork. (Pre-grooming attempt) :) Notice how he can now stretch his legs out like a SHOW DOG!!

I think he's gorgeous, even with the curly butt. ;) He looks so happy, well they all do.
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure....

He's chubba!!! But he does look very good!

And he and Truman had such lovely body language in that video - great communication skills!

Liz, if YOU think Lenny is a chubba, wait till Mallika gets here. :shocker: He is actually much thinner than a year ago. Maybe his old swooping spine makes him LOOK fat? Well, that is the story I am sticking with. :popcorn2:

You know I love them all. He doesn't look chubba to me at all. I think he is gorgeous. :loveU: He has come such a long way.

Is that Darlene in the background just hanging out and was that Harleybird who got run over in the excitement?

At the end of the video, Missy? That was Harleybird, who of course was glued to my side and I almost tripped over him while playing photographer. As my son says, "If you are looking for Mom, look for Harleybird."

He looks tidier...but I like fringe! ;) I have a friend who chops all her Aussie's butt fluff off... :( I like butt fluff.

He's definitely chubba and very cute!

Great job, Joycie. We can get you a second job as a groomer. He looks so much happier than those first pics you took when he arrived. That is just fantastic.
