The Story

In March 2008 and man and his two dogs embarked on a cross country trek that was inspired by the loss of his Great Pyrenees to cancer. Some of you have heard the story of Luke Robinson, Hudson and Murphy.

In the beginning they walked from town to town sharing their story and meeting others who lost pets. They also talked with scientists, oncologists, and other thought leaders.

It wasn't long before Mr. Robinson realized they were walking for something much bigger than just pet cancer.

Comparative Oncology

Like people, companion animals develop cancer - they get brain, breast, bone & lung cancer; lymphoma and melanoma just to name a few and scientists have discovered that the malignant cells are biologically comparable.

Furthermore cats and dogs are exposed to the same environmental risks so if we hope to eradicate cancer there is tremendous potential in forming a partnership between pets and people.

2 Million Dogs

It was during their journey that a simple idea was conceived. If two dogs could walk 2,000 miles for cancer surely we can get 2 million dogs to walk 2 miles.

2 Million Dogs was formed with the singular aim of eradicating cancer in pets and people and it will work towards that end by educating people about and investing in comparative oncology studies.

We are currently developing a business plan and not accepting monetary donations at this time. However, you can get involved now!

Pledge A Dog

We need 2 milliion dogs walking for cancer and to reach that goal, we've launched our 'Pledge A Dog' Campaign.

You can join our nationwide effort to end cancer today by submitting your dog's name, a bit of information about yourself, and a way we contact you. As we roll out our campaign across the country we'll be contacting you.
