Freek insident.

My girls were on the porch waiting for their din din, while getting home and unraveling the days experiences.

They have the silly wire cages in the house vs plastic crates in basement and for travel.

Well, I came back into the porch with food and my Ryder was standing there, not moving a muscle! My other girl panser was hiding in the corner like Ryder was a monster or something. I didnt quite get it at first. Slowly I realized, Ryder, coudln't move, at all! Some how her rabies tag had caught onto the hook on the wire crate. She must have panicked and attacked the crate a few times, hence pansers fearful state from the corner, and was standing their submitting to the crate door. The crate was dragged out a good three feet with a plant on it and everything. Not a light object. Had to show what came of it. I slowly unhooked her, thinking, gonna get bit here, and lowered her head and just unlatched the hoop from the hook. I could smell anal glands...ugh! I knew she was scared at that point. She was licking licking licking like avoidance.

Once I released her she clacked her jaw and look and behold!.....

Ok, can I just say, I was tearing up, seeing this, and she ran in and ate her dinner like nothing happened!!!!

The doc says we gotta remove the rest of it at some point but to wait for us to get a drill and let her swelling come down. No rush. What a night!

And this is her upper left Canine tooth by the way. There is another two thirds of the tooth still in there! Perfectly healthy, 4 year old, canine tooth! Both my dogs are traumatized!

Yikes, that sucks! Sounds like the dogs weren't the only ones traumatized. I think they get past that kind of thing a lot faster than we do. I'd be freaking out, too. Someone wrote about the crate/tag thing a few days ago, and I was looking at the Premier break-away collars at the pet store yesterday, seriously considering it. Now I'm wishing I had bought one.

You might also be able to do a root canal.....sometimes that's a good choice for a canine tooth.

Well, she has horrible parrot mouth, with her over bite we were considering removing some teeth in the future. Now it looks like not so future! My vet does not want to jump into it so we are waiting to see. Shes on atopica too so I don't want it to turn into an infection! She may need others taken out too, so we gotta wait for this drill.

He bottom canines rub the inside of her upper canines so they were a tad worn already. And her upper roof, has pretty much made room for these teeth! Has never bothered her so the dentist said if it aint broek dont' fix it! Now may be another story!
