Tell me about King Co, WA

I know there's quite a few Pacific Northwesterners on this forum. I just submitted an application to the King Co Sheriff's Office and now I'm pondering the logistics of the relocation, should it occur. The actual job is in Renton, WA and I know Seattle is a bit bipolar when it comes to pit bulls, but are there any actual bans in force in the area? The cost of living in the area looks comparable to Sacramento, although from the quick research I've done, commuting sounds like hell depending on where you're traveling.

I have lived in King County for 30+ years (Duvall @ 25-30 miles north of Renton).

Yes, if you have to commute,,,,it is a true nightmare......It is an expensive place to live.

I am surprised that you feel that the Seattle area is "Bi-Polar" regarding APBT's. I have owned the breed for 20+ years, and only have been insulted a couple of times :nono: ...I personally find it a very APBT friendly place. Even the WSP have them (Neville wil be retiring in Sept.) :) .

Next to Renton there is a town called Kent, which is the home of Bullseye Dog Rescue (Wonderful folks!). You may want to contact them in regards to your concerns...FYI to you and everyone else that may be in the area,,,,Aug. 21st the second annual "Pit Bulls on Parade" will be held. Last year there was an awesome turnout. It was a blast (Free CGC testing for all APBT's)...500 people and over 250 APBT's...

Hope this helps you a little.

OK, I go up for my final interview & exams on 2/9-2/11 and I'm hoping to look at at least a couple possible rentals. Does anyone have any leads on pit bull-friendly property management, complexes, landlords? If I get the job, it sounds like I'd have to relocate less than 2 weeks after I get back. :sad2:
