So... I had a horribly crappy morning dealing with unemployment and their terrible, awful, un-funny joke of an online training program. So, after wasting gas, 40 minutes (one way) driving, and three hours there, I was on my way home and drove past a small farm with cows and horses.
I decided that I wanted to stop and take pictures, because I like taking pictures and I hate everything else so far today. So I went up to the door, knocked, introduced myself and asked if I could take pictures of their animals.
I'm pretty sure they thought I was a lunatic, but they just said not to touch the fence because it's electric and it's on, and don't go in the pastures... so off I went. I was kinda bummed that I couldn't go in the pasture, because in the middle of the field were two rams beating the heck out of each other for the full 20 minutes or so I was at the second field, I know it would have made for some great shots!
All taken over/through electric fences with the 105. It was about 40 degrees and windy, so I didn't stay all that long.
These were the not-friendly horses in the the first field, I liked the blue eyes on some of them, but the bird ox in their mains and tails was awful!
In the other field this horse and his friend would not leave me alone. He wouldn't back up far enough to get a good picture of him, but wouldn't get close enough to not have the fence in the way, but followed me like a shadow...
I loved the eye lashes on this heifer
A big black cow helping to frame my shot
another heifer with lashes to die for
My helpful horse returns
and won't go away
