Shiloh and Osteosarcoma

Here is where we can discuss canine cancers and treatment options to create a support system for those dealing with the disease.

Shiloh was diagnosed on December 4th, had amputation on December 6th and first round of chemo on December 18th. He is doing well and holding his own.

Keep fighting Shiloh. He is beautiful. I know someone mentioned this before but we have another Tri-pawd, Trouble. She is doing wonderful. Bob and Shanna can let you know of their experience. You will find we have a great support system around here for our loved ones who have fought and still fighting.

He is adorable! And I love his coat, too!

He'll get my continued good thoughts for healing!

Welcome! Our tripawd, Trouble is 12 years old and has been a cancer survivor for 25 months now. We also had a very quick diagnosis and amputation. She was diagnosed at 5PM the Monday before Thanksgiving 2008, had a second opinion visit 24 hours later and 9AM Wednesday morning was in surgery. We actually credit the quick diagnosis and treatment for her success.

Hope your chemo is going well. We had 5 treatments of carboplatin, and luckily had few side effects. Shiloh is a beauty and I hope he has a speedy recovery and a long life. If at any point you have questions, just give a shout. Sometimes it just helps to talk it through.

And this group is wonderful for supporting the cancer fighters. There have been several, and we love and support them all.

Just wanted to give you guys an update. Shiloh has just finished round 4 of chemo and is doing well. No side effects at all except being a little crabby the very next day after treatment then back to normal. His last set of chest x rays were clear and now we decide if we want to continue with a different treatment or do some oral medications at home.
