Walking Harness

This is equipment-related, which is why I posted it here. I'm in the market for a walking harness for Inara. I think it would be good exercise for her to be allowed to pull on a harness during some walks so I want a good, sturdy one that I don't have to worry about breaking or pinching her. That means nothing from Petsmart or anything like that with 3/4" straps and teeny plastic clips.

I really like CDPits walking harnesses, and they're right around the price I'm looking for, and they have a handle on the back, which I really like, but the harness is $45 and shipping is $20. I can't justify spending almost 50% of the price of the harness for shipping. Seems crazy.

Any other ideas for places that make harnesses in that style (thick straps with padding, d-ring in back of harness, handle on top) that perhaps don't charge as much for shipping?

Thanks!

I got my walking harness from Brown Dog Design, I believe she charged $10 or less for shipping and the harness is very well made and has held up well, my dog uses it pretty hard, lol.

I actually ended up ordering from Brown Dog Design! I'm glad to hear you like it - I've heard good things about her stuff. :-)

Is that Missy with Brown Dog Design? I've had flyball people contact her for harnesses (she made a prototype for Score), and she's NEVER got in contact with them in return. I love my harness, but I don't recommend her anymore due to complaints I got.

Yeah, it's Missy V with Brown Dog. I emailed her and she got right back to me.

I saw the topic heading and my first thought was "what the hell happened to Liz that she now needs a walking harness" but then I remembered that this is a group of somewhat normal people not Service Dog people.
