Nosework

Inara and I started a Nosework class, and she is just blowing my mind. She has seriously found her calling - very natural talent. We've only had two 45 minutes classes, with about 5 or 6 run-throughs each class. But you can see that she puts her nose down and works it like a bloodhound!

This first video was our 2nd to last practice run - we'd done maybe 6 or 7 beforehand. I was putting her in the dining room while I "hid" the container so she couldn't see where it was. Then I called her to heel and rewarded her by sending her on her search. She was on a roll so this one was easy for her:

This was the next one, our last, so I made it hard and hid the container up off the ground. She got frustrated and looked to me once for guidance, so I just gave her the command again and off she went:

Isn't Nose Work so much fun?! I've only played around with it a little bit with Renee (I'm still saving up for actually classes). I think it's so cool to just watch them do what they already know how to do and let them take the lead, rather than being the one to call the shots all the time.
