Back to the eVet - cat this time

Food, Fitness and how to keep them healthy.

Postby mnp13 » January 12th, 2012, 6:51 pm

He ate some tuna today, and just spent a solid three minutes drinking out of the faucet. He's got a fresh bowl of tuna and a couple new foods to try. He didn't touch the liver wurst ( more for us I suppose ) and I got some really nasty cheap smelly crap canned food for him to try.

He actually groomed himself a bit today as well.

He's going in for sub-q tomorrow morning if I can't get ahold of my friend to see if he has any and can come out and show me how to do it. He's back in his box with the heating pad now. I turned on the space heater for him and he's loving that.

two steps forward... one step back...

He's eating and drinking, selectively but better than nothing. But now he's got diarrhea so he's back at the vet for sub-q fluids today.

If I lived closer I'd totally help you with sub-q fluids!

Well, we have a big bag of fluid, and a bunch of needles. Demo knows how to do it, but if he needs it when Demo's not home, I'll be taking you up on that. Because I just don't do needles...

He's steadily getting better. We still put him in the bathroom at night for his own safety, but he hasn't been falling when he jumps up on things which is fantastic. He has a followup on Friday, and if everything is ok then we're going to try giving him full run of the house again.
