LOVE raw cookie dough.

Probably one of my biggest obsessions/addictions is puppy chow/muddy buddies. If I make it, I will literally sit and eat the entire box of cereal in a day. Sometimes two. I only make it this time of year and I've only made it once so far. I really try to limit myself because I have ZERO control when I make it. Haha

What is puppy chow?

I am addicted to egg nog. And not yucky egg nog, the stuff made at the local dairy that is just like the stuff you'd make at home (if you made egg nog at home.) No HFCS or anything else. Just eggs, sugar, cream, milk - though it is cooked.

And I was completely stupid this summer and didn't buy an amazing vintage iridescent "egg nog" bowl with complete set of matching cups.

This is what it looked like, isn't it pretty???

And I can't wait to make this: http://www.instructables.com/id/Eggnog-Recipe/

Funny how different areas don different names!
It's puppy chow here and was back in Illinois, when I lived there.
But that was 23+ years ago.

@ Michelle----------I'm not a fan of eggnog because I'm not a fan of NUTMEG.
So I guess if one of these recipes would have......say.....CINNAMON in it's place, I'd probably love it!
But I guess too, I need to say, I"ve never had any eggnog other than what's available in the grocery store.
And with all the fat and and calories, I just choose not to imbibe in something that's gonna be heavily peppered with that spice.
But ........I WOULD SO Try Yours!! :P

Haha iI was born in Oklahoma but we moved to Arizona when I was a kid. In Arizona it was just muddy buddies, as chex calls it. We called it puppy chow. When I moved back to Oklahoma, I was pleased to find that if I said puppy chow, everyone knew what I was talking about. Hahah must be a Midwest thing.

Grew up in Indiana...we called it puppy chow. Had it mainly for Girl Scout events...not for Xmas

my favorites are my mum's recipes: Sour Cream Cookies, Ginger cookies and Marble Cake...making them with my mum this week

My mother in law's coleslaw. Ohhh my. It's so good, she makes a lot of extra so my family can have some at the other christmas dinner.

Peppermint bark.

My mom's veggies au gratin that she always makes just for the 24th.

And, after that, it's hard to say because we just have a daily niagara falls outpour of sweets from clients, which let's say has already made me put my winter weight on, before the holidays even started.

I am not big on desserts, and dislike chocolate anything 99.9% of the time. I like that I can eat a slice of apple pie twice a year, but really for Christmas I am looking forward to our traditional cinnamon bun and mimosa pre-breakfast snack, our quiche breakfast (I need to figure out what kind of quiche I want to make this year), and my mother's amazing stuffing. I hate bread, shouldn't eat bread (and neither should she), but her stuffing is too good to NOT eat!!

Yeah, that's right, I cheat with stuffing, not sweets. LOL!

My mom's homemade cinnamon buns.

I also love a turkey dinner.

And Christmas cookies. I have a cookie baking bonanza every year. This year I went to my mom's and we baked together. We made 16 different recipes. I took most of them to work with me, where they were devoured in a day. I also sent some to work with my boyfriend, where they lasted only slightly longer. I just love baking. But then I have to get everything out of the house or I will eat it all.
